A brand new store concept is set to open its doors in Metro Manila this August. TITAN, the first ever basketball-dedicated retail store in the market, was designed specifically with the Filipino basketball player in mind. The store hopes to give consumers a unique and lasting experience every time they visit.

Located in the up and coming Forbeswood Retail area at Burgos Circle (corner of Rizal Drive) in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig – TITAN will house the first and only basketball specialty store in the Philippines as well as a traditional 4-chair men’s barbershop. The store is not what you would typically expect of a sporting goods shop, with the latest performance basketball products from the best brands in the world set against a store environment that exudes an old world simplicity far better suited for a time before ours.

“We wanted to create a space that would be perfect for anyone who loves basketball”, says Jeffrey Cariaso, co-founder and one of TITAN’s owners. “We wanted a store that would give basketball consumers the power of choice with the products that he wants. And with the barbershop, it was about having a space where if you’re into basketball and you love the game and the culture that comes with it, you’ll feel right at home.”

TITAN is the first retail venture of TITANOMACHY, INC., a basketball collective formed by Cariaso and his partners, who all share a common passion and love for the game of basketball. Jeffrey Cariaso is a 15-year professional basketball player in the Philippines, a 10-time All-Star and 8-time champion in the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association).

The store will carry the latest and most innovative performance basketball footwear, apparel and accessories from Nike, adidas, Brand Jordan, And1, Converse, Reebok, K1X and New Era. TITAN’s barbershop services will primarily focus on haircuts and shaves.

TITAN will open on August 4, 2010, with 3 exclusive shoe releases from Nike slated on that day. The Nike Zoom Kobe V “Big Stage” Edition (Home and Away) and the Air Max LeBron VII NFS “MVP” shoe will be available in limited quantities on Opening Day.

For more information and regular updates, visit www.titan22.com.

Yet another Lebron post pile up…

I seriously thought if he’s to move, he’s headed to Chicago Bulls and build his own legacy there.

If not to Chicago, to New York Knicks instead and with a possibility of being a mega-legend when it’s all said and done.

But clearly he had other plans. I think he is not chasing MJ-esque legacy or even a “lowly” Kobe resume. More of, yeah, he’s chasing some rings PLUS a whole lot of fun.

Playing basketball with his buddies, playing where weather is good, playing for a bigger market with Hollywood-ish air, and most of all, fine asses are abound.

Heck, even if am the 25 year-old-guy who has the opportunity to do all that and be paid 100,000,000 dollars, I’ll jump on that before you can count L-B-J-ZERO. Unfortunately, from get go, LeBron was the chosen one in basketball and he had no choice but to live it up. As of now, he hasn’t and will need a lot of work and wins before he can be “the one” of his generation.

How is it acceptable that LeBron James, destined for greatness, consistent 60-win franchise player, will now be a second banana to Wade. Or if not, an equal of Wade on that Miami line up. He had a choice. Have you seen the first Miami Heat poster with James, Bosh and Wade? Guess who’s in the center? Miami is Wade’s team.

We read it and we know it. Michael Jordan will not move to Los Angeles to ride Magic and enjoy Hollywood lifestyle. Jordan is the man and he made is own city an “it” franchise for a decade. Greats downed the better ones. Michael Jordan pounded everybody on his way to the top.

LeBron is the “King” and it’s called The DECISION and not MY DECISION or not YOUR DECISION or not OHIO DECISION. But still, there are some holes in this whole free agency circus.

He need not make this free agency a charade when, this trio planned this years ago. The making of a TV documentary or reality TV of Wade and Bosh during the free agency sessions support this theory.

If he wanted rings and lasting legacy, he should have picked Chicago and drag Bosh with him (or even with Booz in there instead of Bosh). Bulls is more of a ready and balanced team.

Most of the people around him are his highschool buddies. His posse definitely will choose South Beach over Akron 20 out of 20 times. Did I mention what South Beach offers?

If he knows his basketball, he knows how shallow the Miami basketball history is. Chrisakes, fans only show up there when they are winning. And most of all, all wear white tees during finals!

He did not need that 1-hour special and do the slit-the-throat-of-Cleveland-sports-fans routine.

But there are upsides too…

This could be the year when LeBron says f*ck it, I don’t care about you folks. Like the time Kobe went through that rape case, had that ugly tattoo and accepted that his clean image is gone. He went nuts along the way then went positively wild after that. Went on super scoring show when there’s no help and and later adjusted his game when Pau and others came through. This could re-energize KING ZERO for a planned 2010-2011 demolition job of whoever gets in his way.

For fans of Durant and Kobe, this LeBron PR fiasco made them NBA poster boys instantly. You know, how to go about making extensions quietly (Kevin) and collecting rings (Kobe).

The NBA just gets juicier now. Juicier than all of South Beach models combined. State rivals Orlando - Miami is good TV. Chicago is ready to go at it plus they signed Ashton Kutcher now. And, Boston Celtics should be able re-group and rest for another shot at the East.

We have not seen the last of Shaq playing one new team per season. We know how low and cheap Shaq has been the past few years. He so desperate for the limelight and some rings that it’s possible he’ll go back to Miami and be part of that. (Can you imagine Larry Bird in the twilight of his career, bad back and all, playing for 3 different teams? Or Tim Duncan playing for Houston in 2012, Hawks in 2013 and Oklahoma in 2014?)

Long-wished finals featuring Kobe and Lebron is now closer (and better) than ever.

The Miami Heat. Well, it’s a bit shocking for me personally. And the reactions among his peers, colleagues and fans, perhaps former fans were mixed. Some are nice, some are doubtful, and most are brutal especially from Cleveland fans. I was forced to hit the keyboards though I am temporarily taking vacation for writing blogs, to stress my own opinion regarding the jump of ship by LeBron. Reggie Miller said in an interview that he wants LeBron to stay with the Cavs because all-time greats like Jordan, Bird and Magic never left their respective former teams and became champions. He further adds that four championships in Miami is incomparable to one championship with the Cavs. Because he is a hero in that city and that city is starving for a title. Well, that would be probably the reason why despite of his long tenure with the Pacers, he is title less. He forgot that LeBron, like as he was before, a professional basketball player. Look at Kevin Garnett, after twelve fruitless years with Minnesota found his team in Boston and won his first championship. Was there a big deal? So also, Sir Charles commented that even assuming Miami Heat wins a championship or two, or three, that would not validate LeBron’s greatness as he merely joined the bandwagon of Wade and Bosh. A comment coming from a ring-less former professional player. Did not he joined the Rockets with Hakeem and Drexler to a have a chance to win a ring? He further said that at 25 years old in his career, he wanted to be “the guy” in the team. Well we know what happened. He is ring-less.Same with Patrick Ewing, Malone and Miller. The point here is, they were all professionals. Being paid for how they play. They were not paid for loyalty. After a player, no matter how good or great he was during his prime, sooner or later, those team owners who are businessmen will find a way to trade, dump or sold their former prized player. And that’s why I am not convinced of Cavs owner’s declaration that they do not need a coward like James. Is it not a basic right for a citizen especially in United States, the most democratic country in the world to follow his own choice? What’s good for him and his family? If that is the case, they must draft new rules in the NBA restricting a home grown player to stay with his native city. Why there is no validation issue with Pierce winning his first championship with Garnett and Allen, who are also superstars coming from different teams? I am not defending LeBron because I am a fan but defending the logic of his decision. He left Cavs because he cannot win by himself. He let $30 million flies. I am too was disappointed to his Game 5 melt down against Boston. But that will not convince me to join the LeBron haters just because the guy chose to be a winner, though winning in Miami is still not a guaranty especially when the Lakers are still intact, the Magic still flexing its muscles and the Celtics still has its Big Three.~The Great Anticipator

P.S. And why the Cavs owner is whining only now?He said James quit not only in game 5 but also in 2,3,4 and 6 against Boston. Why he did not tell all of these while he was still courting and praising James? Is he not a spoiled too?
