MANILA, 23 February 2012 – Nike Basketball is proud to unveil key colorways celebrating its pinnacle players competing in basketball’s big weekend in Orlando later this month. Taking inspiration from space exploration, the collection features a galactic theme on the LeBron 9, Nike Zoom KD IV and Nike Zoom Kobe VII System. Graphics pay homage to the supernova – arguably the most powerful force in the universe – while the outsoles glow in the dark and individual ‘mission patches’ adorn each shoe as a nod to the accolades astronauts receive.
LeBron 9 is the first Nike shoe to combine Flywire technology and Hyperfuse construction in the upper, a significant technical advancement in footwear. LeBron James, whose home state of Ohio features more astronauts than any other state, will wear a special version of the LeBron 9 that takes inspiration from the orange space suit. Orange, the most visible color to the human eye, helps identify astronauts. Functional graphics “Pull For Lockdown” are featured on the midfoot harness, while the materials are inspired by space suit textures. The midfoot harness wraps around the foot and incorporates Flywire for added strength and lock down support. LeBron’s mission patch, an honor astronauts receive from space exploration duties, is a lion shooting through space.
Nike Zoom KD IV incorporates the new Dynamic Fit system that provides a superior lock-down fit and lateral support. Kevin’s colorway is silver and takes inspiration from the silver suit of a notable Oklahoma astronaut, while his mission patch pays tribute to his reign as “H.O.R.S.E.” champion. The combination of Hyperfuse construction on the upper, Nike Zoom unit in the forefoot and low collar design is a superior lightweight design. The functional graphics “Pull For Lockdown” on the midfoot harness is a key graphic feature.
Nike Zoom Kobe VII System includes the Attack Fast insert that features a Phylon midsole with Nike Zoom units in the forefoot and heel for the ultimate in lightweight responsiveness. Its sock-like fit eliminates the need for a traditional tongue and innersleeve, keeping the shoe lightweight. The upper’s color features telescopic inspired imagery. Supernova is the primary graphic motif on the upper and ironically gives birth to stars. The mission patch on the heel is a mamba snake as a nod to Kobe.
All three editions will be available at select retailers and at NikeStore.com beginning February 24.

The iconic three-stripe brand, adidas, proudly launches the fourth installment of the Philippine Range collection. Featuring jackets and t-shirts that are playing on the Philippine flag’s trademark colors, adidas offers a fresh and modern take on the Philippine Range collection with its minimalist design.

The Mega Soft Cell technology is featured in numerous shoes of the collection to offer a wide range of everyday benefits for today’s street consumer.
